Anmerkung zur Übersetzung:
Strophe 1: "Blighty" ist eine liebevoll Bezeichnung für England, die insbesondere in der Kriegszeit gebräuchlich war; "The Blue Funnel Line" war eine Schifffahrtsgesellschaft; "gives me the pip" bedeutet soviel wie: macht mich mutlos, oder deprimiert (im Sinn von: es kotzt mich an).
Str. 3: "civvy" ist mundartlich für "civilian".
