Editorische Anmerkung:
Als Anlage zu dem Scan des Liedblatts wurde dem DVA eine "Information on the Federated States of Micronesia National Anthem" gesandt (Mail vom 01.11.2011), die Dr. Rufino Mauricio vom Historic Preservation Office in Pohnpei auf Grundlage eigener Befragungen bereits zusammengestellt hatte. Danach ist das Lied zwischen 1950 und 1952 im Rahmen eines "class projects" an der "Pacific Islands Teacher Training School" in Chuuk entstanden. Im Jahr 1991 wurde es unter dem Titel "Patriots of Micronesia" gesetzlich zur Nationalhymne Mikronesiens erklärt (Federated States of Micronesia Public Law 7-31, Title I, Chapter 8, Sections 801–803). Auf youtube eingestellt ist die Präsentation der Hymne "Patriots of Micronesia" im Jahr 2008 durch vier Schülerinnen und Schüler der Xavier High School in Chuuk (letzter Zugriff 20.12.2011).
Hans Ferdinand Maßmanns Lied "Ich hab mich ergeben" dürfte während der deutschen Kolonialzeit in der Südsee (1884–1914) nach Mikronesien gelangt sein; vgl. Die deutsche Südsee 1884–1914. Ein Handbuch. Hrsg. von Hermann Joseph Hiery. Paderborn u. a. 2001 (darin u. a. "Die deutsche Sprache in Mikronesien", S. 248f.) sowie Hermann Joseph Hiery: Bilder aus der deutschen Südsee. Fotographien 1884–1914. Paderborn u.a. 2005 (Foto 249 von ca. 1906 zeigt, wie an einer Missionsschule Singen nach Noten gelehrt wurde).
